This article guides you through how to add an automation by using a library template.
In order to add an automation from the template library, you will need to click on the "Automations" tab at the top of Rencore.
Once on the Automations page click on "Add automation" in the top right.
At the top of the "Automations Template Library", you can narrow the library by a word search, service, or category.
Once you have narrowed down the list of templates click on the template you would like to use.
Once you have chosen the desired template you will be loaded into the template. Here you will be able to specify the trigger method this can be (Manually, On Schedule, or On Check Violation).
Once you have chosen the desired trigger and configured the desired function click "Next" at the top right of the screen to move to the "Actions" page.
Note: As this automation is a Library Template everything in Trigger will be prefilled in, although alterations are possible.
On the "Actions" page, you will now need to define the steps and actions this automation should perform. It is possible to add multiple steps that have single or multiple actions. The very first step will be actioned at the point of Trigger, any other steps that get added will be run as a delay on the trigger or after a condition is resolved.
In order to add an action click "+ Add Action". On the new screen, you can filter the actions by Name or action type (Notification, Change property, and Trigger automation).
Once you have narrowed the selection of actions, click on the action you would like (Send message to a Teams channel, Send email, Enable or disable a user account, set visibility of a group, Send HTTP request or Trigger Azure Function).
Once you have selected the actions you want to trigger, you will then need to configure the action. (For example; if the action is to send an email you will need to populate the sections of the email including the body including placeholders.)
Once you have added all the steps and actions click "Next" in the top right-hand corner of the page.
Note: As this automation is a Library Template everything in Action will be prefilled in, although alterations are possible.
The final stage is to add details for the automation. This includes a Title, Description, Category, and Icon for the automation.
Once you have entered the details in click "Done" in the top right of the screen.
Note: As this automation is a Library Template everything in Details will be prefilled in, although alterations are possible.
A prompt will appear asking "Do you also want to enable this automation or just save it as a draft?", if you want to enable it straight away click the "Save and enable" button. If you just want to save it without enabling then click the "Save as draft" button.
This will lead you into the details view page for the automation where statistics for the automation are shown.
