This article will guide you through how to analyze .sptfIventory files created by our farm scanner tool.
The Rencore Migration tool is a client application that can be used to run an analysis of your whole SharePoint farm.
Note: To analyze a SharePoint Farm you must have a SharePoint Farm Inventory File (.spinventory). Which needs to be created on a machine on the farm. More details can be found here.
The client application can be started from the start menu "Rencore Desktop".
On the first run of the Migration Rencore tool, you will be presented with the screen below.
On the first run of the Rencore Migration tool, you will automatically be prompted to add a new SharePoint Server.
Here you will need to add a "Name:" for the analysis.
Next, click the "Select Inventory File" button to open the file dialog browser, where you will need to choose the desired farm inventory (.spinventory) file.
Click "Start Scan" to start the scan.
The Scan is broken down into two stages:
This is when the tool analyzes the details of the contents in the farm inventory file. It will state the date and time the analysis was started as well as the current progress of how many items have been processed.
This is when the tool starts building the reports for the results of the analysis for the farm inventory file. It will state the date and time the analysis was started as well as the current progress of how many items have been processed.
Once the analysis is complete the analysis will be presented. To view the results from the scan you need to click "Check results".
Note: Before the results are displayed you will need to unlock them by adding an associating a license key. For more details on this please see .
